Gung-Ho, Upton Country Park, Poole #teamRosieBear

Well that was an experience!  A team of 9 family members and work colleagues took me round the Gung-Ho course at Upton Country Park.  It’s a 5k course with various inflatable obstacles to clamber rather inelegantly across or over and then slip or slide down the other side, the last obstacle being a huge slide with running water to slide down in to a huge pool of bubbles – it was great fun!  Thanks to all who took part and to those who sponsored us for the MND Association.

As you can see from the before and after photos, things got rather messy!

First Visit to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

To be in Edinburgh in August is to be in the midst of the biggest and best arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. People from all walks of life come together to share in their love of culture, whether it’s comedy, theatre or music. I saw many, many comedy shows and improv shows including an improvised musical which was very clever.  Some of the comedians I saw included Sarah Pascoe and Eddie Izzard,  and I also saw Carol Ann Duffy read her poetry, which was pretty amazing.  On our travels we saw Josie Lawrence in a theatre foyer, Dominic Holland in the street, even Reginald D Hunter emerging from a taxi, it’s quite surreal.

My favourites shows were Alexei Sayle and Fred Macaulay, a character comic who did a show about Attenborough.

Then to have a lovely break seeing some beautiful flowers in the Royal Botanic Gardens topped off the holiday wonderfully.

I was ready to put my paws up when I got back though, it was quite tiring!
